Carnival season
Carnival is coming up and we were reminded by being stopped in the road from the village to our place by a group of teenagers in combat uniform and "scream" masks at about 10 p.m the other day. They sprayed the car in foam and bounced up and down on the bonnet for a while and when I offered to pay to let us pass they refused the money! Trick or no treat, I suppose?
Of course, the Rethymnon carnival is the second biggest in Greece and we are still unsure what we will be doing and where we will be going. It sort of ties in with Valentines Day this year so one way or another it could be an expensive weekend!
